Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Autumn Landscape by William Mason Brown for USD 37,500.00 (€ 30,438.31). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Mason Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with Melon, Grapes, Peaches, Pears and Black Raspberries, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 83,650.00 (€ 76,743.12).
