Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Study for the cresent moon in 'The Ship' by William Holman Hunt was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2010. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,952.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Holman Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tuscan Girl Plaiting Straw in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 3,330,500.00 (€ 4,006,074.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Study for the cresent moon in 'The Ship' von William Holman Hunt kam im Juni 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.952,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Holman Hunt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tuscan Girl Plaiting Straw im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.330.500,00 (€ 4.006.074,97).
