In the British & European Art auction, the work Twenty five drawings: 'The Hireling Shepherd': study of a woman's head; Studies for the headpiece to 'The Beggar Maid'; The Wife's Death: study for the illustration to 'At Night'; 'Isabella and the Pot of Basil': copy after Luca della Robbia's 'Boys Singi sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,668.54) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000 Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Holman Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tuscan Girl Plaiting Straw in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 3,330,500.00 (€ 4,006,074.97).
