Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work View from a cave opening to the sea; Study for 'Miss Flamborough' (Gladys Holman Hunt holding an orange); and Study of a candelabra for 'The Lady of Shallot'; by William Holman Hunt for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,184.42). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Holman Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tuscan Girl Plaiting Straw in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 3,330,500.00 (€ 4,006,074.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit View from a cave opening to the sea; Study for 'Miss Flamborough' (Gladys Holman Hunt holding an orange); and Study of a candelabra for 'The Lady of Shallot'; von William Holman Hunt für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.184,42) erwerben.
