This artwork by William Holman Hunt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2010. In the Victorian & Edwardian Art, Including Masterpieces auction, the work Homeward Bound (The Pathless Waters) sold for GBP 70,850.00 (€ 82,185.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Holman Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tuscan Girl Plaiting Straw in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 3,330,500.00 (€ 4,006,074.97).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Holman Hunt erzielte im Dezember 2010 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art, Including Masterpieces wurde die Arbeit Homeward Bound (The Pathless Waters) für GBP 70.850,00 (€ 82.185,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00.
