The work Articles of China, 1844 by William Henry Fox Talbot was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2016. It achieved a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 34,504.97), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Fox Talbot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work William Henry Fox Talbot’S Gifts To His Sister: Horatia Gaisford’S Collection Of Photographs And Ephemera in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,956,000.00 (€ 1,625,935.16).
