It achieved a price of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,721.72), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 65%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Grimaldi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Arthur Wellesley, 1St Duke Of Wellington (1769-1852) sold at auction in July 2015 with the realized price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,746.44).
