The work Portrait Of A Lady by William Grimaldi was sold in the Important Miniatures from a Private Collection auction at Sothebys in London in April 2008. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,055.58), 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Grimaldi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Arthur Wellesley, 1St Duke Of Wellington (1769-1852) sold at auction in July 2015 with the realized price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,746.44).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady von William Grimaldi wurde im April 2008 in der Auktion Important Miniatures from a Private Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.055,58) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von William Grimaldi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait Of Arthur Wellesley, 1St Duke Of Wellington (1769-1852) im Juli 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.746,44).
