A top price for William Grimaldi - as previously expected
In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work Portrait Of Arthur Wellesley, 1St Duke Of Wellington (1769-1852) by William Grimaldi. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,746.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait Of Arthur Wellesley, 1St Duke Of Wellington (1769-1852) is the most expensive artwork by William Grimaldi that we have observed at auctions so far.
