This artwork by William Daniels achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2017. In the Handpicked: 100 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery auction, the work Still Life with Relief Chalice, Fruit and Glasses In A Stone Niche II sold for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,916.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Daniels; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vanitas Ii sold at auction in February 2010 with the realized price of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,706.35).
