Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Paul F. Walter, which included the work A view of a courtyard, possibly the Moti Masjid, Agra, showing its terraces and two flanking minarets by William Daniell. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,819.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shivala Ghaut and Cheyt Singh's House near Benares in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 567,043.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Collection of Paul F. Walter durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of a courtyard, possibly the Moti Masjid, Agra, showing its terraces and two flanking minarets von William Daniell zur Versteigerung kam.
