In September 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Indian, Himalayan & Southeast Asian Works of Art, which included the work View Of The Right Bank Of The River Ganges, Near Currah, December 1788 by William Daniell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 100,800.00 (€ 86,021.51), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Daniell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shivala Ghaut and Cheyt Singh's House near Benares in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 567,043.69).

Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Indian, Himalayan & Southeast Asian Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit View Of The Right Bank Of The River Ganges, Near Currah, December 1788 von William Daniell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 86.021,51) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Daniell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shivala Ghaut and Cheyt Singh's House near Benares im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 485.000,00 (€ 567.043,69).
