Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two hunters and a deerhound, in a landscape with ruins by William Barraud was sold in the Sporting Art auction at Christies in London in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,100.00 (€ 28,112.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Barraud - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sir Edmund Antrobus And The Old Surrey Fox Hounds At The Foot Of Addington Hills, which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 45,000.00 (€ 63,794.89).
