Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mr Miller on his favourite hunter Bristol by William Barraud was sold in the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction at Bonhams in London in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,148.53 (€ 9,661.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Barraud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sir Edmund Antrobus And The Old Surrey Fox Hounds At The Foot Of Addington Hills in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 45,000.00 (€ 63,794.89).
