In June 2006 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs, which included the work Plato, The Property of The Marquess of Hastings by William Barraud. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,077.33), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Barraud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sir Edmund Antrobus And The Old Surrey Fox Hounds At The Foot Of Addington Hills in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 45,000.00 (€ 63,794.89).

Im Juni 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plato, The Property of The Marquess of Hastings von William Barraud zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.077,33) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Barraud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sir Edmund Antrobus And The Old Surrey Fox Hounds At The Foot Of Addington Hills im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.000,00 (€ 63.794,89).
