Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Cottonpickers: A Pair of Works by William Aiken Walker. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,287.50 (€ 7,342.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Aiken Walker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Big B Cotton Plantation in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 648,500.00 (€ 545,049.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cottonpickers: A Pair of Works von William Aiken Walker zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.287,50 (€ 7.342,52) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Aiken Walker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Big B Cotton Plantation im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 648.500,00 (€ 545.049,59).
