Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cotton Pickers by William Aiken Walker was sold in the Two Centuries: American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The price achieved of USD 47,880.00 (€ 41,447.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Aiken Walker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Big B Cotton Plantation in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 648,500.00 (€ 545,049.59).
