Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Levee, New Orleans by William Aiken Walker was sold in the The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,741.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Aiken Walker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Big B Cotton Plantation in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 648,500.00 (€ 545,049.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Levee, New Orleans von William Aiken Walker wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation bei Sothebys in New York versteigert.
