Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A classical ruin in an Italianate landscape with two travellers on a path, a ruin beyond by Willem van Bemmel was sold in the European Noble and Private Collections incl. Fine Paintings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2010. It changed hands for a price of EUR 1,875.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willem van Bemmel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A mountainous landscape with horseman on a track at sunset; and A mountainous river landscape with horsemen on a rocky path at dawn in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 13,750.00.

Die Arbeit A classical ruin in an Italianate landscape with two travellers on a path, a ruin beyond von Willem van Bemmel wurde im Dezember 2010 in der Auktion European Noble and Private Collections incl. Fine Paintings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem van Bemmel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A mountainous landscape with horseman on a track at sunset; and A mountainous river landscape with horsemen on a rocky path at dawn im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.750,00.
