Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Willem de Kooning. Here, the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 44,100.00 (€ 41,095.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem de Kooning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled XXV in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 66,327,500.00 (€ 62,703,252.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Willem de Kooning zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 44.100,00 (€ 41.095,89) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem de Kooning erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled XXV im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 66.327.500,00 (€ 62.703.252,03).
