Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2015 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Blue Brook (A Stream In Vermont) by Willard Leroy Metcalf. The price achieved of USD 137,000.00 (€ 122,737.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willard Leroy Metcalf - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work October Festival, which sold at auction in May 2014 for USD 545,000.00 (€ 399,560.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue Brook (A Stream In Vermont) von Willard Leroy Metcalf zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 137.000,00 (€ 122.737,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Willard Leroy Metcalf mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit October Festival beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für USD 545.000,00 (€ 399.560,12) versteigert wurde.
