This artwork by Wesley Tongson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in February 2021. In the Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Winter Landscape sold for HKD 47,500.00 (€ 5,063.05) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wesley Tongson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Green Mountains in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 212,500.00 (€ 23,627.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 90 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wesley Tongson erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Winter Landscape für HKD 47.500,00 (€ 5.063,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wesley Tongson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Green Mountains im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 212.500,00 (€ 23.627,85).
