Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work Misty Landscape by Wesley Tongson. It changed hands for a price of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,698.61) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wesley Tongson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Green Mountains, which sold at auction in November 2021 for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 23,627.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit Misty Landscape von Wesley Tongson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.698,61) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wesley Tongson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Green Mountains beobachtet, die im November 2021 für HKD 212.500,00 (€ 23.627,85) versteigert wurde.
