Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Wei Dong could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Origo Collection — Contemporary Ink Art auction, the work The Old Tea House changed hands for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 16,899.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wei Dong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wanna Fly, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 37,188.17).
