Vol. 1: Title page, 2 pages preface, 2 pages table of contents, 2 3-page colour illustrations, 19 double page colour illustrations, 1 page colophon. Vol. 2: Title page, 2 pages preface, 2 pages table of contents, 1 3-page colour illustrations, 1 single page and 20 double page colour illustrations, 1 page colophon. Vol. 3: Title page, 2 pages preface, 2 pages table of contents, 1 single page and 21 double page colour illustrations, 1 page signature and date, 1 page colophon. Each illustration with seal: Seitei. Published by Ôkura Magobei in 1890-1891. Very good impressions and colours, blind printing, slightly yellowed, some abrasions on covers, all in all good condition. A few browned water marks.
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2016 Lempertz in Cologne held the auction Asiatische Kunst - Highlights China, Tibet/Nepal, which included the work Unknown by Watanabe Seitei. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 2,232.00. Other works by Watanabe Seitei have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 4,025.00 (€ 4,204.09) in March 2000 for the work The wife of Enya Takasada at her toilette.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2016 führte Lempertz in Köln die Auktion Asiatische Kunst - Highlights China, Tibet/Nepal durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Watanabe Seitei zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 2.232,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Watanabe Seitei haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.025,00 (€ 4.204,09) im März 2000 für die Arbeit The wife of Enya Takasada at her toilette beobachtet.
