Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sparrow and Pink Knotweed by Watanabe Seitei was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Bonhams in New York in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,238.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Watanabe Seitei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The wife of Enya Takasada at her toilette, which sold at auction in March 2000 for USD 4,025.00 (€ 4,204.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sparrow and Pink Knotweed von Watanabe Seitei wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.211,25 (€ 1.238,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Watanabe Seitei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The wife of Enya Takasada at her toilette beobachtet, die im März 2000 für USD 4.025,00 (€ 4.204,09) versteigert wurde.
