Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wang Shu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in March last year. In the Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphy in Regular Script – A Trip to Baizhang Mountain sold for HKD 176,400.00 (€ 20,306.75) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Shu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Superfluous Words On Calligraphy in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 104,620.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Shu erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Regular Script – A Trip to Baizhang Mountain für HKD 176.400,00 (€ 20.306,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Shu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Superfluous Words On Calligraphy im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 104.620,41).
