Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy in Running Script by Wang Shu was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center auction at Christies in December 2021. The price achieved of HKD 43,750.00 (€ 4,955.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Shu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Superfluous Words On Calligraphy in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 104,620.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Wang Shu wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center bei Christies versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 43.750,00 (€ 4.955,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Shu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Superfluous Words On Calligraphy im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 104.620,41).
