Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Running Script Calligraphy by Wang Shu. The price achieved of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,418.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Shu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Superfluous Words On Calligraphy in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 104,620.41).
