This artwork by Wang Shu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy Copy Wang Xizhi'S "On The Seventeenth" sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,837.82) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Shu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Superfluous Words On Calligraphy in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 104,620.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Shu erzielte im September 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy Copy Wang Xizhi'S "On The Seventeenth" für USD 20.000,00 (€ 15.837,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Shu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Superfluous Words On Calligraphy im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 104.620,41).
