In November 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Floating Lives: No. 8 by Wang Jie. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 275,000.00 (€ 27,267.49), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Jie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Endless Day, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 620,000.00 (€ 64,587.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Floating Lives: No. 8 von Wang Jie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 27.267,49) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Jie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Endless Day beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 620.000,00 (€ 64.587,51) versteigert wurde.
