Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy by Wang Jie was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013. The auction ended at the price of HKD 60,000.00 (€ 5,688.67), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Jie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Endless Day in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 620,000.00 (€ 64,587.51).
