This artwork by Wang Jie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Ni Zan’s Poem in Cursive Script sold for HKD 151,200.00 (€ 16,818.91) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Jie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Endless Day, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 620,000.00 (€ 64,587.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Jie erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Ni Zan’s Poem in Cursive Script für HKD 151.200,00 (€ 16.818,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Jie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Endless Day beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 620.000,00 (€ 64.587,51) versteigert wurde.
