Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2005 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Complementing Imperial Poetry In Small Standard Script Calligraphy by Wang Jie. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 42,000.00 (€ 4,595.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Jie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Endless Day in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 620,000.00 (€ 64,587.51).
