Translation of the poem :
Little remains of my possessions; even my grizzled hair is getting scarce. But undying are my childhood aspirations, dreams of exploring heaven and earth.
An orange orb peeps in under the curtain. “Rise!” I thunder out. High rises the moon; and with it there rise from the blossoming shrubbery on all sides portentous shadows tumultuous as the tides.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chaos Script Calligraphy-Gong Zizhen 'Rise' by Wang Dongling was sold in the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. It changed hands for a price of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 33,860.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 240,000.00 – 320,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Dongling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Harmonious Opposition, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 98,581.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chaos Script Calligraphy-Gong Zizhen 'Rise' von Wang Dongling wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 33.860,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 240.000,00 – 320.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Dongling mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Harmonious Opposition beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 98.581,85) versteigert wurde.
