Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Picket Fence (Photograph 10/1958) by Walter Chappell for USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,797.17). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs from the Polaroid Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Walter Chappell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gestures Of Infinity in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 16,272.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Picket Fence (Photograph 10/1958) von Walter Chappell für USD 3.438,00 (€ 2.797,17) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs from the Polaroid Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Chappell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gestures Of Infinity im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 16.272,07).
