Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs from the Polaroid Collection, which included the work Selected Nudes From Human Metaphor Series by Walter Chappell. Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,593.52). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Chappell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gestures Of Infinity, which sold at auction in June 2010 for USD 20,000.00 (€ 16,272.07).
