Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Walter Chappell could be acquired at Bonhams in April this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Classic & Contemporary Photographs auction, the work Selected Images from the 'Metaflora' series 3 changed hands for USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,464.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Walter Chappell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gestures Of Infinity in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 16,272.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Walter Chappell konnte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Classic & Contemporary Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Selected Images from the 'Metaflora' series 3 für USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.464,67) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Chappell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gestures Of Infinity im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 16.272,07).
