Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The flower basket by Vittorio Matteo Corcos was auctioned at Christies in London in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 63,000.00 (€ 72,573.59). Admittedly, works by Vittorio Matteo Corcos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alla fontana (Le due colombe) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 687,500.00 (€ 590,280.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The flower basket von Vittorio Matteo Corcos im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 63.000,00 (€ 72.573,59) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vittorio Matteo Corcos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alla fontana (Le due colombe) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 687.500,00 (€ 590.280,76).
