Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Victor Vasarely achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2005. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Kanta Orion Blanc Positive; and Kanta Orion Noir Negative sold for USD 4,560.00 (€ 3,781.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Vasarely achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Altaï Iii in February 2010 with an auction result of GBP 565,250.00 (€ 630,588.93).
