Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Apparition in Red (Marked Man) by Vaughn Spann was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 56,700.00 (€ 51,980.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vaughn Spann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Big Black Rainbow (Deep Dive), which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 239,400.00 (€ 195,748.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Apparition in Red (Marked Man) von Vaughn Spann wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 51.980,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Vaughn Spann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Big Black Rainbow (Deep Dive) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für USD 239.400,00 (€ 195.748,16) versteigert wurde.
