This artwork by Utagawa Yoshitora achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2008. In the Asian Art auction, the work Unknown sold for EUR 2,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Utagawa Yoshitora - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Igirisukoku (England), which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 5,019.00 (€ 4,604.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Yoshitora erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Unknown für EUR 2.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Yoshitora mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Igirisukoku (England) beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 5.019,00 (€ 4.604,59) versteigert wurde.
