Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work St Mark's square at dawn, Venice by Umberto Ongania. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 576.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Umberto Ongania have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Decorated gondolas in the Bacino di San Marco in April 2001 with an auction result of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,303.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit St Mark's square at dawn, Venice von Umberto Ongania zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 352,50 (€ 576,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Umberto Ongania auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Decorated gondolas in the Bacino di San Marco im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.303,89).
