Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Umberto Ongania could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work Venice From The Lagoon changed hands for GBP 478.00 (€ 696.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by Umberto Ongania have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Decorated gondolas in the Bacino di San Marco in April 2001 with an auction result of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,303.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Umberto Ongania konnte im September 2004 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wechselte die Arbeit Venice From The Lagoon für GBP 478,00 (€ 696,39) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Umberto Ongania auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Decorated gondolas in the Bacino di San Marco im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.303,89).
