Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of Venice from San Giorgio Maggiore by Umberto Ongania was sold in the At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in October 2003. The price achieved of GBP 70.50 (€ 102.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25.00 – 200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Umberto Ongania achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Decorated gondolas in the Bacino di San Marco in April 2001 with an auction result of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,303.89).

Die Arbeit A view of Venice from San Giorgio Maggiore von Umberto Ongania wurde im Oktober 2003 in der Auktion At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 70,50 (€ 102,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25,00 – 200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Umberto Ongania erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Decorated gondolas in the Bacino di San Marco im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.303,89).
