Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Feeding the pigeons on the Piazzetta, Venice by Umberto Ongania for GBP 336.00 (€ 499.04). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Umberto Ongania achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Decorated gondolas in the Bacino di San Marco in April 2001 with an auction result of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,303.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Feeding the pigeons on the Piazzetta, Venice von Umberto Ongania für GBP 336,00 (€ 499,04) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Umberto Ongania erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Decorated gondolas in the Bacino di San Marco im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.303,89).
