Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tschabalala Self achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the 20th and 21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Pressed sold for HKD 3,250,000.00 (€ 343,550.11) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tschabalala Self; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Princess sold at auction in February 2020 with the realized price of GBP 435,000.00 (€ 504,165.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tschabalala Self erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Pressed für HKD 3.250.000,00 (€ 343.550,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tschabalala Self; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Princess im Februar 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 435.000,00 (€ 504.165,99).
