This artwork by Tschabalala Self achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2021. In the First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Colored 2 sold for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,105.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tschabalala Self have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Princess in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 435,000.00 (€ 504,165.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tschabalala Self erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Colored 2 für GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.105,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tschabalala Self auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Princess im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 435.000,00 (€ 504.165,99).
