The work Bush by Tschabalala Self was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in March last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 107,100.00 (€ 126,979.10), 53% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tschabalala Self - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Princess, which sold at auction in February 2020 for GBP 435,000.00 (€ 504,165.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Bush von Tschabalala Self wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 107.100,00 (€ 126.979,10) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tschabalala Self mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Princess beobachtet, die im Februar 2020 für GBP 435.000,00 (€ 504.165,99) versteigert wurde.
