Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Toyohara Chikanobu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2008. In the Asian Art auction, the work Unknown sold for EUR 4,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Toyohara Chikanobu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Scenes of beauties and farm life sold at auction in December 2021 with the realized price of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,763.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Toyohara Chikanobu erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Unknown für EUR 4.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Toyohara Chikanobu; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Scenes of beauties and farm life im Dezember 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.763,12).
